Courses
I have been teaching at Tel Aviv University since 2019. I believe teaching is a privilege, and each year I learn something new from my students.
Law of Contracts
Contract law allows the parties to give legal effect to their agreements. Contracts are an integral part of our lives: renting an apartment, opening a bank account, entering into an employment relationship, and making purchases at a store are all governed by contract law.
The purpose of the course is to provide students with tools for understanding and analyzing the law of contracts. The course will discuss the theory, guiding principles, and legal rules of contract law. We will address questions such as what a contract is, what happens during pre-contractual negotiations, the role of contracts as a tool for risk allocation, how contracts should be interpreted, and what the outcomes are of a breach of contract.
We will examine the interests protected by contract law and review principles such as freedom of contract and the principle of good faith. We will also explore the interfaces between contract law and other areas of private law and see how a thorough understanding of contractual relationships is a necessary foundation for understanding many other laws.
Restitution of Unjust Enrichment
Commercial and Private Law: Between Courts & Academy
The seminar aims to explore the relationships between the courts and the academic community, and concomitantly develop the research and writing skills of the students. Each class will focus on a different issue in commercial or private law and will review the relations between a leading court decision on that issue and the academic writing on the subject of the case or the case itself. This discussion will focus on questions such as what is the role of the academic community; how should it approach and interpret case law; does it have any responsibility toward the local courts; etc.
Advanced Seminar in Commercial - Civil Law
The advanced seminar for master students explores the relationships between the courts and the academic community, in the context of commercial and private law.
